Weird toe issue

My son noticed that one of our chickens had a cut on her foot. We cleaned with peroxide and applied triple antibiotic ointment. It keeps opening again and when I was looking at it today it appeared that instead of being split on the pad behind the toenail like I thought, that it’s almost like a weird growth that shouldn’t be there. Has anyone had this happen before or have advice on what we should do? We are fairly new to chicken keeping.

Whoa that's odd, I've never seen that before... I honestly don't know, but maybe somebody on here will see this and have some answers for you

Thankfully it seems to have healed up ok. She just has an extra little nub!
