Today, I cracked an egg and as I scrambled it, I found this. The egg was a bit odd shaped. No rooster involvement in my coop. Any ideas?

A big bit! It is over an inch long. Glad I caught it and did not cook/eat - very rubbery. Thanks.

Do you still have that? If you do, can you cut it open and post a photo?

To me, it looks like a shell membrane.

Is this a new layer? How old is she?

Do you notice if she's having a hard time laying eggs?

IF she seems to be in distress or having a hard time, get Extra Calcium into her for a week. Give 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet once daily, just open her beak and pop the tablet in.

She is a 3 year old. I no longer have it to show the inside. I will try the extra calcium. Thanks.
