I finally get them outside and what do they do? Go lay in their duck house. I put them in the pool, they stay in their for 5 minutes at most. If they aren't in the duck house, they are laying by the gate next to the chickens. They are very calm and seemed relax though. They seem to follow Sunny the pekin. She is the boss.

Yes there are shady areas throughout the day. The run is under trees.

The pekin is definitely female. She is louder then the rooster and has no problem quacking to let you know what is on her mind.

They seem to really like the house. Right now they are basking in the sun by the gate as close as they can get to the chickens.

Mine do the complete opposite, they can be found anywhere BUT the house most of the time. Not even when it's time to "go to bed".
:barnieDucks are a piece of work sometimes

Is their set up new to them? It takes time to adjust. Mine like to lay next to the chicken area too, but put them together and it is on! :gig

Yes they were raised with the chickens. They all get along really well.

Hehe! They aren’t weird!! They are fat and don’t really like to be in the hot weather for long. And they miss their hatch mates!:gig I think that’s so sweet. If I had a mixed flock, I would want to raise them together too.
