Iāve had chickens for 8 or 10 years now. I started with a little flock for some fun and some eggs, and for my kids to have something to do. Now my kids are grown and gone and I have 16 chickens. I got 6 more this years because of the āegg shortageā, but also because theyāre fun. I have a lot of different breeds - Easter eggers and Americanas, Dominant Copper, Rhode Island reds, Olive Egger, Lavender Orpingtons, Blue Jersey Giants, blue-laced red Wyandotte, Silkie, Novagen. I think thatās it.
We also have 5 dogs, 4 cats, and a rabbit. Canāt wait to retire so I can spend all my time with my husband and animal babies - I sound like an old person, but Iām not THAT old
.
Iām an orthodontic assistant, but now I manage the office as well. Check out Bigfoot Orthodontics in Oregon!
I joined BYC because every time I google a chicken question, this seems the most legit place to get answers. Thanks, chicken enthusiasts!
