Well I had a big scare today. I was out feeding the animals, but this time Charlie made an accident in his crate (he’s only in there at night), so I went around the house to hose off the tray… Well, I noticed Charlie hadn’t made his appearance for a few minutes. I went around yelling out his name, whistling and doing any recall I knew of. Could NOT find him for a while. Finally I had almost given up, so I went inside and burst out into tears. Mind you, the last time something of this nature happened, the dog was dead. But I glanced out the window and I saw Charlie sprinting up to the door. He was so out of breath. I don’t know if he went off chasing something or if something was chasing him. I’m just relieved he’s okay.

I got paranoid after that, and made him wear his e-collar and stay really close for a while. I haven’t had to use the e collar in sooo long. I have no clue what happened today.

I guess I should post a little “flock” update or more like a list of my animals.

10 Call Ducks
10 Guineas
4 Cats
2 Leopard Geckos
2 Betta Fish
1 Hermit Crab
And of course 1 dog, Charlie.

Right now the birds are fed Gamebird Feed (14% Protein, I think), with the occasional helping of Scratch Feed. The cats are on Meow Mix, the geckos are fed live insects of course. The bettas get bloodworms and a pre made fish food. And Charlie is on Victor Hi-Pro Plus dog food.

Charlie has an appointment to be neutered on January 3rd. Luckily it’s not as long of a wait as I thought it would be.

I guess I won’t be using the e collar with Charlie anymore. I guess because he hasn’t needed it in so long, he’s very uncomfortable and nervous wearing it. He’ll scratch at it and roll around like crazy trying to get it off. He listened to me very well today, but I had it on him just in case. I ended up taking it off because he was more than obviously uncomfortable with it on.
