Good morning pondites. Deb, those videos are so sad.

yes.... they are... I had never seen the horse one...

but we as a community pull together... 90 percent of those horses were caught and brought to safety right on the premisis.... That is a reallly big farm. completely fenced and cross fenced. Pastures and race tracks infields and aisles...

the Loss of human life is very low... THInGS can be replaced...

The Del Mar Race Track and Fairgrounds has taken in over 600 horses and Livestock... The out pouring of feed and medical care is there Volunteers too.

This part of California is a huge horse community So anyone who can has been taking in horses and livestock as well. This happens for each fire and the ensuing flooding...

Eddited to add. This is why I get on the bandwagon about having an evac plan and maybe practice it one or two times a year if possible. Why I have a horse trailer that never gets used... Crates for critters yata yata...

Well I know we won't move them in today cause I got to go buy shavings. But if everything else is done I can move them sometime this week or next weekend.

It's a blessing that so many of the horses were saved, but the whole time I was watching the clip I was wondering how much more the welfare of the horses could have been served had the "man with the camera" laid the camera aside & concentrated his efforts on helping to make sure the horses got to safety.
I guess that wouldn't have done anything to boost ratings, though.

The man with the camera was a stable hand I believe. I dont speak spanish but There Are a very lot of people on those farms that work each Barn.... The camera was a phone. Like I said the farm is fenced and cross fenced with race tracks and pastures....

Yep the news would show the worst... But what I was seeing was the horses being driven toward safety.... I would imagine there were those ont the other end shooing them toward some of those fenced areas in the back ground.
