When I talked to him on the phone he said cut off...... Never said sewn back on.
Said he needed to have surgery on his thumb though.

I'm hoping my PC will be less bloodthirsty than the others. Too young to tell right now, I think they're 6--8 months. So far, they're almost too nice to each other and with the hens.
