Hope yours goes as well as my buddy's did. They did his left one on Oct. 17 & he was driving his clutch truck within a month, walking across farm fields, up & down hills in the woods, & up & down ladder stands by Thanksgiving. Still using a cane, but at least he can walk w/o pain again.
THAT is a great cat!!! Short update: I left to go spend the day working on the set almost in tears. (Yeah, I let it get to me a bit.)
When I got to the construction site, I was greeted by people hard at work, two dear, old friends, and the lead worker who really knows his stuff. Whew.
It's still going to require a huge amount of hours to get it all painted and together correctly, but I feel a lot better about the process.

And Broom, I am so sorry we didn't get to meet up. I probably could have raised your trip satisfaction up at least a half notch... Okay, maybe a quarter...
I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up too, but this was a crazy trip, besides it was pouring in Redding both days we went thru. It would've been fun to meet Ron in Woodland too to beg off some of his famous sourdough starter. 
We brought you a gift just in case we did get to see you. It was a framed pic of Dirt (thanks Shaw!) because nothing says "friendship" like a large picture of Dirt ... am I right?

I have to finish packing.... and I can't just toss a bunch of non-stained, non-torn clothes into a bag, and once there have my mom dress me.... nooooooooooooo
I have to CHOOSE and pair down etc! Turns out that there will be close to zero luggage space in the car my mom rented for me to drive the lot of us all over speedy tarnation -vill!!!
Looking back, I realize that even after we downsized, we still had way more stuff than we needed. Is there anyway to upgrade the car, or strap stuff to the roof? The bags will get wet, but you can wrap the clothes inside in trash bags & they'll stay mostly dry. Everyone says to just rent a tux when you get there, but I'm still convinced you're a woman 
& its harder to dress women than men. As a woman who wears mostly mens clothes, I have a REALLY hard time dressing up if it has to be a real dress & not a lady suit. TMI, but I swear I feel like a transvestite when I have to wear a dress. DH says I'm crazy & that people see us much different & better than we see ourselves. So Al, shoulders back, head high & forget about what you are wearing. You are more successful than you realize! You are also envied, respected & loved by people that have never even met you in person. This is gonna be a great trip! Take the time to take lots of pix, splurge & enjoy every second of it!!! 
You have my # call or text me at anytime! I can come down & bring you a framed picture of Dirt (you guys see a theme here? ) After all, nothing says "Get Well Soon!" like a large picture of Dirt.... am I right? 
I don't wear a swimsuit at all, shorts and shirt. But it's Fiji, so who cares, we'll both sport awesome bikinis and feel amazing in em! Or at least try it out once...Packing now... No bikini for me, though, with my matching scars. Heck, I'll have to wear shorts to cover them.
That's what I'm looking forward to. I had my first one done 3 years ago, and for the first couple of years after surgery, every day, I'd think, "Wow! It doesn't hurt anymore!" (Of course, just as I got used to that being my normal, the other one had to go... I guess I needed the reminder to be grateful for what I had, huh?)
Staying inside Just keeping warm today. Being kind of lazy except washing bedding and stuff. Getting a bed ready for my daughter to be here.
Watching tv. . shopping on Amazon and eating all the leftovers in the fridge
It's been snowing today but it's up to 34 degrees now so it's not sticking. Might get more through the night though. . I may get that snow day after all

The last three storms "they" predicted that could have caused snow days fizzled. I was so convinced that the last prediction was right that I was terribly confused when my alarm went off, but we hadn't had a call from school canceling or starting 2 hours late. I also took my time, dragged my feet getting ready to go, and was almost late getting out the door because I was waiting for that call!Staying inside Just keeping warm today.
