Yeah, I'm with you on that. And here's me, thinking this site is about learning and sharing (and being generally stupid wherever possible - in my case, at least  )

I'm sure all will go ok with the egg thingy - wonder what they think a blue egg will taste like   Maybe I should ask DW to find out?

Tell you what is putting me off right now - monkey invasion! The other day, they went into the coop and took eggs, nest box on the floor and one of my good laying hens disappeared without a trace (no feathers, nothing) little ba****ds! Just closed the coop, but expecting at least another girl to want to lay - hope she can keep her legs crossed for an hour

Thanks. Stupid, annoying little creatures - just been looking at air rifles - just a small bruise would put them off for a while

Wow! I'm sorry you're going thru that. That must be pretty common in your area, but in my neck of the woods thats definitely the most unusual predator I've ever heard of.

Thanks and i don't honestly know if they took my girl - but the eggs, i do know for sure. One girl was outside the coop, just now, so i let her in and closed the door. The monkeys seem to be moving off in search of pastures new, so they should be gone, for today.
