Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Did I mention that kid 4 went down with the flu?

Well... looks like kid 5 is about to keel over with it... kid 4 is still out ..

Kid 3 is FINALLY breathing! His oxygen count is now 95! (Below 90 is hospital... on Tuesday, after a bunch of drugs at the doctor's office he got to 90).

And his heart rate is finally coming down a bit to better levels... all of the steroids plus the albuterol was shooting up his heart rate. And he was drinking a bit of caffeine too since that also helps breathing.

Tomorrow we are supposed to drive up (2 hours 1 way) to graduation for kid 2..... and deliver the ducklings and chicks that I hatched for a friend.

Might leave a few kids home :barnie
:th Al, I hope you and Spouse don't get it! Or if you do, it's AFTER Kid 2's graduation. Hope the rest get better soon!

Good Evening, Pond!
Busy day today. Went on a field trip with 4th grade to visit the coal-fired power plant near our town. I've been there before, but it's still interesting. We got to go on the roof - 300' in the air. I love being able to be up high and see forever. I had 10 kids in my group. It's like trying to herd cats, keeping them all together and caught up. Got my hair cut after school, went to Camp to help DH plant some trees, then out for supper as long as it was time, and we were hungry. Got home, had just a little bit of time while DH changed oil on the car, then over to the field we farm of my Mom's to get the 'big tractor'. The 'big tractor' was there because DH had to use it to pull the planter and smaller tractor out of the mud after he got them stuck. (He plants with a 1954 model John Deere 720. He and the tractor are the same age. He says when the tractor dies, it's time to retire.) Finally walked in the door at 9:15 tonight. Tomorrow we head to IA for the day for youngest Granddaughter's 1st birthday.
Good night, and I hope you all have a blessed weekend.

Tuck tuck Bobbi :frow

We would go out to the zoo but, it just rains/pours almost every single day. Sean was able to ID a curious bird we had seen last time with no signage. Of all things it turned out to be a "Crown pigeon." I never knew they could be that large or unusual appearance.

Zoo used to have "Woof Field," store with all sorts of dog stuff (and some for cats :()
But if stores can't come up with a high sales amount, the zoo gives them their walking papers, and they closed. I needed a corgi for someone. No luck.

Otherwise all the other shops have zoo animals toys and t-shirts and hats and wind chimes and things that cost a fortune. My brother has a family membership so gets free parking, and admission for a few quests as well. And tram rides.

Has free ranging peacocks and guineas to keep bugs down, goats you can feed and brush- hey if you are citi-fied it's a thrill. Lots of photo opps etc. Porpoise shows, etc.

I had to finish up end of school paperwork tonight (all online forms etc, uploading samples, etc) . In the slot labeled "parent" I put my first name.

In the slot labeled "student" I put my last name!

I had finished 2 kids, was working on the third, started to fill in the form... and literacy kicked back in!

I had to redo what I had already done!

Sheesh!

And I was having such issues getting some of the videos small enough size.

At least IT IS DONE

And... before kids started to drop like flies.... Over the last week we got the mudroom totally resorted and cleaned.... and the hallway...and the laundry.... and the boys bathroom.... and a little bit in boy's bedroom. I only had one fully well worker today though.... so the bedroom (which I had hoped to finish today) was only maybe half done.

Had that happen years ago to my kitchen sink, saw where one pipe had pulled away from another. Found an empty, clean fruit juice bottle that was the perfect height to boost the wayward pipe where it belonged. Stayed like that for years with my son making fun of my repair. Ha, it didn't cost me a dime and it worked great.

My shower head likes to drip, and sometimes I just can't get it to quit. Plumbers charge outrageous prices, so I keep a gallon jug in the tub, with a funnel in the top to make sure the drip winds up inside. When the jug's full, it goes out to the chickens.
