Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Interesting. 🤔 Mechanical, battery or both?
I had a riding instructor who had to keep her watch in her pocket. Because within a half hour on her wrist it would be dead. didnt matter weather it was a wind up or a battery.

Dad said some people just magnetize em. Doesnt take much with a fine intricate mechanism.

I’ve heard of that before. Fascinating!

All my life I've had trouble with watches. Regardless of quality / price they all ran 2 minutes slow. I could reset them and within 24 hours they'd be 2 minutes behind again. Tried setting them 2 minutes ahead; made no difference. Self-wind or manual wind; all the same.

Then, along came digital watches. Every one I've ever had kept perfect time. Only problems I've had with them is after a while they quit compensating for the dst /st change., or the buttons quit working.

Four years ago, DW bought me a Citizen Eco-drive watch for our 50th anniversary. It's analog, not digital, and keeps perfect time. I have to fool with it for any month that has less than 31 days, but other than that, no problems for the entire time I've had it.

And I thought I was bad in that I killed watches.
You too?? I haven’t been able to wear a battery watch in a long time. Since shortly after my grandpa died 25 years ago. I kill them within a couple of days. New battery doesn’t help.

busted lurking.... LOL....:frow

Both. Pocket watches lasted longer. Now I have my cell phone.

That's me - Mr Magnetic.

Hey, who left these packets of seeds on my lily pad. I'll hurry off to plant them.

I’m funny about clocks, but I’ve never killed one surprisingly. I just replaced the electric digital click that I keep in my bedroom. I had it for over 30yrs & got a little emotional letting it go. It felt like I was throwing away a lifelong friend.

I will only allow digital clocks in the bedrooms & on appliances. Other wall clocks & watches must be analog (it’s a homeschool thing I think.) I prefer manual over battery.

My biggest thing is that I need them all to tell the same time. Nothing more irritating than losing & gaining time every time you change rooms. My distracted brain can’t handle it. If one clock is off, by God they all better be off. :old

Pocket watches are sexy! Especially the kind that you can see the gears moving in the back.:love

Guess what... its 5:30 AM and I am hearing Ah Ah Ahhh... from the coop. No Cazoo Crow just a Short Ah Ah Ahhh over and over again. Very soft from inside the house.

Beastie finally became a Mann.... :wee

I can’t believe it!!! The most delayed cazoo of all time. He’s so big that once he gets that frog out of his throat he’s really gonna be belting them out. I hope your neighbors don’t give you any trouble. :fl:fl:fl

Gotta run & go tell the kids what a big boy that Beastie is.
