Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

More than I can deal with. Generally I supply our daughter, but with the 'Covid distancing' we haven't been seeing her routinely. I've been eating BLT's for lunch for more than a month. :drool Last night's tomatoes did not irritate sensitive little me so tonight I am making a tomato/squash/onion ratatouille to go with lasagna.

That sounds amazing!!! :drool

It's so simple. I saute diced onion in Kerry Gold Irish butter, add diced yellow and zucchini squash(fairly good sized chunks), to this I add a couple of diced tomatoes - both yellow and red. Season with a bit of Goya Adobo, and you have a tasty dish that is appealing to the eye.

Didn't know I had an artistic bent, did you. :lau

FIL’s leg is healing enough that it’s starting to make him feel cocky. He’s over doing things & going to make it worse.

The kicker came yesterday when they were heading out to meet friends for breakfast & FIL wanted to drive. I’m holding my tongue about the lack of social distancing that’s going on there, but a 94yo man with bad eyesight & a broken leg wanting to drive???:th I told DH that this is just getting crazy. They need to have an intervention & take his keys. :(

Seems DH won’t be on a flight home anytime soon.

My DIL won't eat tomatoes, but is fine with ketchup or tomato paste.
Must be a WI thing

I was layin low. Family issues Moms alot of work, she wont admit it but change is not a good thing in her orbit. She had to have her house tented and fumigated. It was time been there 50+ years and never had it done.

She wanted to come here but son wouldnt allow her to reinstall Cable TV. She cant live without TV. I mentioned a hotel for the two days shed have to be out. And that I would stay with her. Ohh she liked that. Shes 86 and has always had the emotional stability of a Tweenager. Any way Two days and Two nights On a non memory foam broken spring mattress.

She was happy to have TV. Though I refused to Watch Rediculousness and Jackass. She likes Dr Shows I can Deal so we watched a marathon of DR. Pimple Popper. Yep Not a favorite but I could zone out on the really ikky stuff.

We ate chips and shared a jem magazine while I drew up a bracelet idea.

Son had to come out to help us unload the car going in, and come out to pack us up going out.

Well... good... except for the pain part...

How is the house renovation going?

And is grandma's house going to be sold?

:barnie

But... clearly no one wants to listen to reason....
It’s a sad deal. I’ve been friends with many seniors in my life & this is never an easy transition. It’s a major life change & I sympathize with his sense of losing that independence, but people’s lives could be at stake & it’s just not worth it.

When people start making really bad judgement calls that they think are perfectly reasonable, then you know it’s time.🙁
