Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Today I lured the rooster into the coop, locked him in, and let Red and Goldie out. They joined the flock like they’d never been separated. This is making me rethink my decision to keep the rooster until I get a broody. He’s so pretty! (But most roosters are.) I am getting hatchery chicks in May, so I don’t really need to let my broodies set. But I love seeing a mama hen and her babies out and about, watching how they interact... I know I can get fertile eggs around here if I need to, but I’d rather just take them off the countertop. Sigh. I’ll have to think on this a little more, or hope someone goes broody soon.

That would drive me crazy... them not agreeing on the recovery time.
All the literature says, “6-8 weeks”, so there really isn’t a set time. The one who took him apart and put him back together says he’s doing well. The one more concerned with the insides is erring on the side of caution, I think. DH was told by one of his nurses that doing too much too soon can cause an infection that would put him in the hospital for 3 months to heal. The cardiologist told him that too much too soon could cause improper healing that would mean chronic pain for the rest of his life. I believe both those statements are keeping him cautious.

Good reasons to be cautious.

I hear ya...

That is about the same as would be circling in my head.

I went postal on the cardiologist when he told me I couldn't resume bowling after the surgeon who'd done the bypass had already given me the green light. Don't give me mixed messages & don't waste my time!

Boy, can we relate to that! The discussions we’ve had here go something like this:
DH - “The surgeon said....”
Me - “But the cardiologist said...”

Fortunately we’re getting close enough to that 8 week mark that we won’t have much to arg... er, discuss anymore.

Happy Easter Peeps! 💜
