Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I was sad kid 2 was leaving...

So decided we had to hand him a lucky marzipan new years pig ....

I remembered that I had a can of marzipan in the pantry. :clap

So... I told kid 5 to make lucky new year pigs..

Watch this speed!

Step 1. Decide I want lucky marzipan pigs
Step 2. Command child #5
Step 3. Kid gets can, can opener and food color
Step 4. Open can, pop out marzipan, add dye, kneed to mix dye into marzipan
Step 5. Make pig

All done!

Ta da!!!

What are everyone's New Year's traditions?

We always play a family game of Monopoly. This year, we got Cards Against Humanity (family edition) so the kids want to play that too. We always make a platter with summer sausage cooked in sweet and sour sauce, cheese cubes, and crackers. We just randomly munch all evening while playing our games. DH drinks his Jack and coke, I have my wine (and some captain and coke) and and the kids have soda and sparkling grape juice. By midnight we're all about dead but we bang on pots and pans at midnight then crawl off to bed.
