Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

The birthday dinner was a success.

We had crawfish, snow crabs, steamed oysters, scallops, blue crabs, giant fish sandwich, seafood mac, and shrimp with sides of potatoes, corn on cob, sausage, boiled eggs, fries, and fried corn.

The only person missing was the oldest granddaughter who was working.

She ask several co-workers to trade shifts with her and even offered to pay them to work her shift and they all refused.

So we sent some take-out for her to enjoy.

We took very little food home with us.

Sounds like there was no excuse for anyone to go away hungry.

Good evening pond. We're sitting here in the ER...DS and a friend went to a trampoline park for a while today and I guess DS came down hard on a basketball. They drove back to his friends house for a couple hours before calling us and telling us he couldn't drive home and we needed to pick him up. Hopefully it's not broken and just a really really really bad sprain.... but it doesn't look good.

Yeah…. That’s not a typical bend in that leg…. Keep us posted!

Yikes! That looks extremely painful! 😖

They say that sometimes a break will heal better & quicker than a sprain. I hope the ligaments aren’t involved. 🤞🤞

Well, it's not broken. At least they couldn't see any breaks on the x-rays. The dr said it's a very severe sprain and she thinks he "obliterated" a ligament. We have to call the orthopedic surgeon first thing tomorrow morning. They said he'll probably need an MRI to check it out completely. He's to stay off it, keep it propped up and iced for at least 2 weeks... band camp starts in 2 weeks... she said it's still a possibility but we have to wait and see what the ortho says.

Oh boy… I suppose band camp involves marching?
