That is freaky world weather!!!All chairs that were wet yesterday from rain blowing onto the porch are now covered in ice, and the vehicles are snow on ice. Tomorrow will be about sixty.![]()
And?My MIL used to live in St Augustine.... she misses it and I'm sure she's hibernating in her apartment now... there's white sky dandruff on the ground this morning.
The storm mostly brought us a lot of rain Friday- Saturday. Now the alarm is going off for our septic. Last time that happened, the ball float fell (it's held up with zip ties). I'm hoping that's all it is again. It's been a few years since we zipped it back up lol
Good Afternoon, Pond!
Another cold, damp, windy, grey day here. Went to church then brought some groceries over to my mom. She had her knee replaced on the 4th, and is now renting a short term apartment at the senior living community in town. One large building houses independent living, catered living (they have 2 meals a day provided - either delivered to their apartment or in a community dining room), assisted living and skilled nursing care. There are several wings, but all the different places are accessible from indoors. The apartment Mom has is for short-term rent for people like her who are recovering from surgery, or have other needs. One couple we know spent a winter there because the husband was on dialysis several times a week, and they lived in the country. This way they didn’t need to worry about the snow. (Our dialysis center is just a few blocks from the apartment.) Mom is feeling better every day. Pain meds are hard on her, so once they got those figured out, she has been able to do more.
I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! DH has been deer hunting. We’re awaiting the arrival of our grandson who’s “official” due date is a week from today. We’ll go down to wrangle big brother when baby arrives.
And?
Was it an easy fix?![]()
Who did you call? Rotarooter stopped coming to my town.Yes and no? Our pump went out. We had to call on a Sunday to have the septic people come out and pump everything. It needed it but we weren't ready yet. It was only then that we found out our pump was dead. DH did it himself to keep it cheaper but was still over $400 and an all day project. $400 plus $350 for the tank pumping is a hard blow right after getting laid off and right before Christmas shopping season. The new pump is on now though, and so far, it's working.
