Yesterday morning, I found a dead chick in the yard. I was completely confused. I knew a barred rock had a nest under the screen porch but I thought she had abandoned it weeks ago. It's a very very hard to see and get to spot. Turns out, I was mistaken on how many barred rocks I had so when i had been keeping track of how many were in the coop at night, i was wrong the whole time....oops. the nest was abandoned and no other eggs were any good so I have no idea if she left as soon as the chick hatched or what. I feel bad for the baby but I can't help what I don't know is going on.

Eh... silly hens. If they don't tell you what they are doing....

@Alaskan - Hey Al! I just looked at your weather for today. Stay safe and warm!

Yes.... ew! High of 5 today. also... more of the white stuff.

We lost two Huge limbs right down on the barn.
Neighbors came over with their excavator lifted them off.
Now we will have our own wood next couple of years.
Lily pad is safe here again.

Barn ok?

What kind of dental problems?

A had an issue with a cracked tooth... then a crown... was a huge mess. I couldn't open my mouth much (hard even to slide in a spoon.. stray worked) for 3 months or so...

2 years ago now? 4?


Anyway... fixed now... but... it wasn't pleasant.
