Dmso was an industrial solvent that they discovered helped people's arthritis when the got it on them.

I HATE DMSO....detest it! It's used as a carrier in other veterinary products as well, and when I worked at the animal hospital we all made sure we had a double layer of gloves on before touching it. The instant you touch it, your mouth tastes like oysters or stale creamed corn. Nasty, nasty, NASTY!!!!
