It is a bush-cricket or Tettigoniidae,
Thy differ from grasshoppers by there long antennas. grasshopper are vegetarian and their antennas don't get over the length of half of their buddy this guys are predators and have long antennas that axide their body length.

500 posts behind since last login...sigh...never gonna catch up. Pup's doing great, no accidents, sits on command, started giving paw on request. Accepts being penned, doesn't care to be crated but goes to sleep quickly, and slept in the truck 2 1/2 hours each way, twice in two days.

Ugh!!! Anyone else creeped out by camel/cave crickets??? I just had one on my leg and I think he's halfway to the moon now, lol...

Hi. I'm Debbie. Bugs, snakes, etc...they all creep me out!

They can jump so freaking high and far I used to scream my head off! And my husband at the time was a total d*** and tortured me about it. . he called them saber tooth crotch crickets! Would try and freak me out at bedtime making me think they were crawling on me!

The name is funny, but yeah, he was certainly a dickensian!!

Growing up in South Florida we had palmetto bugs...Giant flying roaches that dive bomb you while you sleep!

Same here. I used to use home defense around my foundation about twice a year. . . until I got ducks! Now I just spray a little dairy bomb inside around cracks and baseboards where I think bugs might come in..
