Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I was bad, I really tried to hold my tongue.

I am not an expert on all chickens, I do happen to know 4 breeds pretty well.

Legbars happens to be one of them. I have more to learn, I know.....BUT I have never seen a SOP written to say a bird needs a certain gene.

I am pretty sure when the SOP refers to color, they mean the wave length of light that is reflected must appear a "certain named color" and not a DNA test will reveal a gene is either present or not...

You can all argue with me all you want.. I really am harmless and not offended unless confront by gross stupidity..

really, trust me on that.

Back from a trip to the coast (Trinidad, Arcata)- where we ran into two other Redding "heat refugee" families we knew! We must have brought the weather back with us because it rained last night!!
Here's a couple pics. The standard ocean one, and the son leaving for S.Korea in 11 days with his mom "feigning indifference" like the models we are. :p

Ofcorse she does.
All mammles have to be pregnant and give birth to kick-start the production of prolactin which is the hormone that produces milk, continuous milking will keep it going on.
Ofcorse; how silly of me. However, if "continuous milking will keep it going on", why the need to be pregnant?

A well bred goat should produce well for a full year....I have heard of some goats that will stay in high production for THREE years!! I want one of those!

Poorly bred goats will only produce for 6 months. :tongue

So...if I wanted goats just for pets, they won't produce milk unless they're bred? :fl

So we only got to go to a swimming spot called the George Hole and then got rained out...Only got a couple of pics and of course they're a bit blurry, but here ya go! We stayed in the shallows because of the kids but on the other side it's pretty deep.View attachment 1103707 View attachment 1103708 View attachment 1103710

Beautiful place!

I swear, I'm amazed daily by the amount of knowledge in our little Pond family. Seriously! I bet there isn't a subject under the sun that somebody here doesn't at least know a little bit about.

good info on the "ignore" feature. who's gonna be my guinea pig lol lovin the goat talk, even though i don't have any, I'm learning a little, so this could help me decide if i ever want any! (still undecided - thought I'd be better with sheep)

:lau Pretty sure I want a few goats. If alpacas weren't so pricey, I'd have them.

Dinner was good Show was better. Agent won't sign the release for publication until all standard modeling fees are deposited in my Swiss bank account ;)

Ignore that stuff

Is we purty smart ?? Sheep is good then you can count them when you can't sleep :lau

See can I help View attachment 1103750

Oh, I didn't realize there was a show, too. Glad it was good! Please have your agent call me stat. ;) :D

This was a fast one -drove up Friday, driving home tonight. Usually we go for longer. Grandson turns 5 this week. :)
LOL, if I was driving it would be shorter!

I simply can't picture you over 30 so you aren't old enough for grands yet.

Well your the direct one now . But really before one can determine that about another . Well a full mental evaluation is required .but it is a simple one . question #1 do your feet touch the ground when you walk . If the answer is yes . there is the possibility that your a block head . that's what keeps your feet on the ground . question #2 can you cup your hands over your ears and seem to hear the ocean sound ? If the answer is yes you have mild delusions. Your hearing things that aren't there . Question # 3 Do you or have you ever believed anything that I say . If the answer is no then you have the ability to sort fact from fantasy . You see it's a very simple test . How can you be insane if your a block head ? Don't cover your ears that keeps you from having delusions. That also denotes intelligence your smart enough not to something stupid . I figure at least 40% of what I say is fact so if you figure out which 40% that is your not insane at all . You are however completely nuts . nobody in their right mind would read all the crap I just wrote :lau:lau:lau Well did you pass the test ??????

That's so childish :lau:lau

I think you did a good job :thumbsup Clearly some are only interested in their own opinion. We've seen a lot of that lately . Can you help it if one of them is you :lau:lau

:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl

I'm sorry. Could you repeat that test part?

I'm getting a goat!!! :wee

:thumbsup :clap :pop:pop

Boorrrrrinnnggg :th

Agreed! :highfive:

Good morning Pondites!

I don't remember this happening last year...our weather has dramatically cooled down and the ducks are on strike. I told them they're supposed to like the cooler weather. There's just no reasoning with ducks.
