Ofcorse; how silly of me. However, if "continuous milking will keep it going on", why the need to be pregnant?

Genetics.

Some goats have poor genetics, and no matter what you do just dry up after 4 or 5 months.

With mustard....ketchup is sacriligious (or however it's spelled)

Yes! Agree! Ketchup is for nasty hotdogs.

So...if I wanted goats just for pets, they won't produce milk unless they're bred? :fl

Yep. You can pay for a "date" for your girls. Then you don't need to own a buck.

Why am I always so confused on this thread?

You clearly are not crazy enough.

Mom called, my brother who was diagnosed with Colon/liver cancer last October, has been given a clean bill of health this morning by his oncologist!
No further surgery and no need for a colostomy! :celebrate
Part of why I'm having trouble catching up...Can't focus, too excited!
GOOD MORNING all my Pond friends!:wee

So happy to hear! The colostomy bag has got to be a pain... :sick

I am so thankful to God that she's ok. But if she ever gets home I think I might have to choke her! She's 18 but she's only had her drivers for maybe a month. I just sold her that car for next to nothing and paid for her tags so she could get a JOB not drive it to timbuckto for a stupid boy!

Teenagers. ... so sad.....no brain at all.

Toughie - but I guess it's part of the growing up process. Bottom line is that she came to no harm - well, until you get your hands on her :D

:lau

For sure. It's just frustrating that she is so smart but yet making the dumbest decisions for herself. She struggles with anxiety and depression but refuses any more therapy. Hopefully this will wake her up but I don't think it's going to. She's planning to go back to the apartment she has been sharing with a 36 year old man.

Here in Israel after reciving the driver license you have to drive with an experienced adult driver for 6 month 3 month for day and night driving, and the other 3 only in the night time and you can't drive more then 2 other people with you for this 6 month period.

We have the same kind of rules here.

Huh.... I had more quotes. .... can't even remember what they were.

Pretend I said something awesomely witty.

Yep. I've done all I can. She has chosen the hard path. I did make her pay me 250 for the car. . and she was supposed to pay another 250 when she got on her feet. Not because I care about money but I wanted her to have something invested of her own so she would take it seriously. Do you all think I should make her pay the other 250 still or just let it go? We can't go get the car to even scrap it. Would cost more to get there than what we would get from it. Gonna let the parents of the boy scrap it for payment to bring her home.
I would make her pay.... or work it off

I second that. It's hard, but sometimes we have to let them flounder. There comes a point when helping becomes enabling, and then you're not doing them any favors at all.

Good Day, Pond Dwellers!
Just got another call from Mom. Seems something got into the run yesterday or last night and killed 4 more chickens, plus the three babies that just hatched on Friday. Sigh.... chicken chores are going to be so much easier this winter. I am now down to 3 adult hens, 3 juveniles and a rooster. We head home in a week - I wonder if there will be any left?

I'm thinking I should. It's just hard to know when to be tough of when to show compassion. I know that sometimes being let off the hook and forgiven when you know you don't deserve it can be the best correction.
In this case though I think she needs to really grasp the seriousness of the situation.

I'm laughing at your many awesomely witty remarks.

:lau :lau :lau :lau

Why thank you! Thank you very much! :ya

I agree with the child raising comment.

That bites about the chickens.

Yeah...usually there is death when I leave for any length of time. Bites. Sorry you are loosing so many.
