There is no fence beyond her. Probably 50 wooded acres (not mine) I can get to her pretty easily, but don't think i could block her in.
Her pen is to the left here (barely see the boat pool), she is just about on the right edge of this pic. My house is far back to the left, out of frame.

i hope she doesn't want to sit, but if she continues, i would probably try moving her into the log house in the pen. Gonna give it a couple more days to observe.
Just looked, she got off the nest. 7 eggs in there.



I got a headache too, and didn't even drink any alcohol yesterday.

Those woods reminds me of a movie my kids used to watch. "The legend of fever swamp". About a werewolf.

Some don't brood, and some wait til they're older... it's connected to lines from what I have seen... LG has super strong broody instincts, she started laying at 5 months, sitting at 7 months and is currently on her 3rd or 4th clutch of the year...
And she passes it on to most of her daughters/granddaughters, etc...

ETA: I feel same about the eggs... see if you can give them away?

Something about seeing a little duckie face coming out of the egg in my hand and opening their little eyes and looking up at me for the first time. . .geesh I better not ever hatch chickens I don't wanna stop eating eggs forever. lol
