Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So, Shade left this morn for work... calls me tonight and says he might have to go back to Murfreesboro for a couple days this week... so I asked if he was working the whole week then, and this is how it went...

Him: Huh? What do you mean?
Me: Well, are you working the whole week through or just part?
Him: Why wouldn't I be working the whole week?
Me: Thanksgiving.
Him: What? When?
Me: Thursday.
Him: That's this week?
Me: Yes. I figured your mom would have told you if she wanted us over.
Him: Oh, yes. She does. But that's this week?
Me: Yep.
Him: Well, crap. Guess I won't be working Thursday then, we gotta go to my parents.
Me: Ya think?
Him: Yeah, they'll be closed Thursday anyways, so I'll have to work Friday and Saturday.

Some days I truly wonder...

Age old debate in my family...another turkey or ham for dinner on Christmas.

What do ya'll think?

Also, what is yer fave holiday movie?

We eat crockpot soup & rolls for Christmas. I'm always way too tired to put in more effort than that.

We do have a big brunch on Christmas day though. We have friends that come to town to visit family. We're the middle spot for their two families, so they pop in for a few hours on Christmas Eve, spend the night at the hotel down the street & come back for the big brunch before heading out to see the rest of their family. Its exhausting & its practically dark before my kids get to open their presents, but I guess I gotta be social at least once a year.

Christmas movies; I'm not sure this counts, but I love any ballet version of the Nutcracker that I can catch on TV. I'm also extremely partial to How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated, Boris Karloff version.) I also love the cartoon Santa & the 3 Bears (its the old one nobody remembers about the forest ranger who tells 2 little cubs about Christmas & then they refuse to hibernate because they wanna see Santa.) Last but not least, Barbie in the Nutcracker, is a great cartoon for boys & girls (not just girls.)

I keep telling these guys if they lay a hand on my goose, the Pond Posse will be after em...:lau

You know it!!! Have pitchfork, will travel! :highfive:
