I just talked to my mom a bit ago. She thinks I have FOUR broodies! I set one of them with a dozen eggs before we left, so I knew about that one.... But three more? I'm going to have a mess when I get home if they all have eggs under them... (She's afraid of getting pecked, so I told her not to worry about checking)

Shall I say congratulations ? When the boss is away, the broodies will play.

I guess so! For years I wished and hoped for a broody. I'd maybe get one once a year or so. This year, it's a broody explosion!

I'm hoping for lots of little freezer fillers (cockerels). DH says, "you can butcher the pullets, too you know." No. No I can't. I hate butchering potential layers.
