I do a kind of pot pie, chicken, beef or turkey, and bake biscuits on top instead of using a pie shell...Is that kinda similar?

Not to a cobbler, no. Imagine scones cooked on top of a stew. Same principle in terms of having a starch and the rest, though, in one dish
