So ducks have all gotten along for the past few days. . today I come home and found Lexi and Maggie cornered behind the sleeping pen. . . the boys wouldn't let them come out. what the flock!
So I pulled all the panels apart and enlarged their area so there would be more space for them to hide and steer clear of each other. It worked for about 20 minutes and the boys had them pinned in a corner again. Why have they accepted Sofie and not Lexi and Maggie! Are they prejudice cause they are different colors from them! I don't get it.

Stick them boys in jail again for awhile... brats...
Some do have color preferences, too though...

I have a small walkway thru my duck pen to the chicken pens. The ducks can easily fly over the 2 foot high fence. The girls always seem to be on one side (their flying is more skilled), boys on the other, unless they are eating, swimming, etc. I think it's the girls way of saying "gimme a break!"

OP is insisting that I'm wrong that you can sex ducks by their voices because according to them they have a female mallard that's eight weeks old that has a raspy quack. I asked how they knew it was female. They won't give me a reason, just keep insisting it's a female

I saw that... right now, I need to stay away... my tolerance for idjits is nil currently...

While my phone was updating, i got a few of my youngest chicks out of their brooders and set up a photo booth for some pics, especially of the ones i need to list for sale. I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to let go of these cuties. The youngest cochins are from my frizzle hen so I'll keep them for a while at least to see if i get any frizzles.
The splash pair, and the serama trio are kinda extras, i might just go ahead and sell them.
And the white/black silkied seramas are so gorgeous, but i have too many boys already, and i think this pair might sell well!

Okay. Auto correct is killing me tonight! I just commented on a thread something about barnyard mix chicks and noticed after i posted it said "Bernhardt" or "Bernard" mix or some other name like that. Tried to correct it, but somehow managed to leave the page and can't find it. So, if anyone asks you about a mix like that, just speak knowingly... oh yes, the "Bernard" mix. Developed by some saint...
