Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I sent Ravyn this pic last night but wanted to share here...My 4 yr old grandson has developed an absolute love for this guy. He brought him in last evening hugging him gently and and after informing me that his rooster loves him too, he asked " is he a ohiki woo?" lol I said I think so and he said "you have to ask Wavyn" so I did and informed him this morning that he was right. He jumped up and down all excited and looking up with a huge grin said " thanks Wavyn"....
He's absolutely filthy in the pic but he's an outside all day lil boy!!!!

Yep, it is a crap shoot... but if poorly packed, shipping rough or not there is no saving some of those... :/

Totally agree there.
I still think I'm ahead with egg cost vs. buying the chicks, even averaging in the terrible hatch rates. And, the chicks I've hatched, for the most part, are of much better quality than those I ordered from GFF, or could ever get from a hatchery. So, Yeah, it's a bit of a frustration, but I'm grateful for any that make the long postal trip and still hatch!!

I think it's a requirement that they have to bug the crap out of you. I like my dental hygienist, but she is always, "Your gums are bleeding too much." Yep, and I have had low clotting factor, and take a daily aspirin, so? I finally told her, "I am 75 years old and still have all but one of my teeth, and broke that one while ice skating and trying to grab a girl by the butt. I must be doing something right." I think she got the message.
What, were you trying to grab the girl by the butt with your teeth? Must have been a pretty firm butt.

:love Too cute!

I remember one Easter Sunday. Church was over, and I stayed behind on the side bank by the creek catching garter snakes. Eventually made my way home with the pockets of my new jacket filled with snakes to find my mother waiting on the porch with a fly swatter in hand. The other kids ratted me out.

Darn kids! What were ya planning on doing with those snakes? :sick

Hubs wanted me to ask if y'all were ever told " yer face looks like ya been suckin on a sows teat"???:lau

Before his grandmother passed away she'd say it to all the dirty faced little kids... They'd say ewww granny that's gross!:lau

Never heard that one.

My alerts system has gone on strike. I was just gonna post about the dearth of nipples on the pond, only to find you've been chatting away :he

Hope it's fixed by now. :fl

Poor livestock, more like! I'm sure they all walk like ducks :D

:lau

Holy guacamole, I just got the surprise of the day. I went to lock down my turkey eggs and my AC eggs, opened the incubator, and there was a poult in there! Today is just barely day 25. I was gonna snap a picture, but of course my phone died and I don't have time to charge it before work.

Barring me finding ko shamo eggs, this is my last batch of the year. That's right, I unplugged the incubator :hit

Of course, it gets up to temp in less than half an hour when plugged back in...

Is the poult okay?

What, were you trying to grab the girl by the butt with your teeth? Must have been a pretty firm butt.

More tests a week from tomorrow. She said I definitely have IBD (irritable bowel disease...is that a nice way of calling me a crab ass?) and put me on some meds that are supposed to help. :fl

My mom broke a fly swat on my butt once . . I kept going to the neighbors house to play with their dog.
My mom broke a fly swatter on my butt once, too. I laughed. Until she went and got the wooden ruler....

Hoping they help! Glad you got a start to some answers, anyway!
