funeral today of an acquaintance, Tom. His passing was expected. His wife made the coffin for him.

boy in the back is my son. He helped carry the coffin to the gravesite, but is now running from one side to the other to help straighten out the ropes.

And interestingly, we are having a baptism on Sunday. Cycle of life.

Well done! Nice. Simple. Beautiful. The way it should be. :thumbsup

Wow. That looked like a beautiful funeral.

Thanks. As you remember from my grousing, there has been almost nonstop rain for 2 months now. Sure was nice to have a dry funeral!!! We did have to pump the water out of the gravesite before the service. Sheesh...

:frow

Al, sorry about your friend. :hugs

Thanks. It was a gorgeous day. As deaths go, it was pretty good. He had been given a terminal diagnosis 3 years back (given 6 months to live), but he lived pretty well until the last month. Then his decline was steady and predictable. So his kids and grandkids had time to make make it all of the way here from the East Coast. It was good. :old

Just got Roo back from the vet. His eye is healing. :wee He's still got a long way to go before he can get the dreaded cone of shame off, but at least he's heading in the right direction. They dont think it blinded him. Will go back in a week to see what happens next.

I still think that was a crazy accident.

Still think it was the chicken?

Very special baseball game today Andrew Romine is gonna play all nine positions.
Andrew is an awesome player but he's a utility player .... They don't make the Hall of Fame.
So the manger is letting him do this so he can get into the records books. It's only been done 5 times in baseball history.
The manger just wanted to show his appreciation...... And this is probably the mangers last game as they aren't bringing him back next year.

:sick I hate winter!

:love

Good morning/evening Pondites! :frow

Hope everyone is having a fine day.

Sure enough I remembered my camera last night & not a Monarch in sight.
No no say it isn't so......I love winter.
It means ICE FISHING...... And watching TV..... And not working on stuff every minute of the day......

Ya know, I really do. This new batch of CL's are insane. I've got another CL from a different breeder & shes totally mellow. All I know, is if I catch one attacking the dogs (especially my precious Meatball) theres gonna be trouble.

Its typical that most people have to make sure their dogs don't attack the birds... In my crazy house I have to make sure the birds don't attack the dogs. :hmm
