It's called oregraphic rainfall - moist air forced up over mountains causes cooling, hence condensation = rain

We're about 30 minutes west of the beach.

Don't obsess too much, your posts are posts that I enjoy reading and understand, but I can't say that about posts by you know who.

I found them harder to pluck.

I'm planning to do some once my flock expands...So I have some learning to do..Lol
Chickens are no problem for me so I assume ducks won't be either, except the plucking..lol

I read a little dawn dish soap in the scalding water helps the water get to the feathers.... makes em easier to pluck...
