My initial comment was more self-mockery, than anything else. I have a Nairobi-English accent, to such an extent that locals think I was born here, assuming they can't see me I've met other Brits that think I'm Scottish or Irish my accent mirrors my brain - a bit confused

I was curious because I have friends from Wales, Ireland, Northern England, and Southern England . Each is quite different, but the ones from the south are easiest to understand.

Indeed, but they lack the character of the northern accents, not to mention our colloquialisms, imo

Any of you ever see the movie Trainspotting? That's one I have to turn closed caption hearin on. Can't hardly understand a word they're saying if I don't.
