Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I have come to the conclusion that hatching chicks even with a pee poor hatch rate is still addictive. 7th and last chick kicked out of his shell with a small navel opening just grabbed a band aid and covered it cuz he started trying to run bout. the other 6 were moved to my brooder and all look in good shape! also put a single stagger hatch egg in today lol. Do y'all think they have CCHA or CCBA meetings? (CCHA: complusive chicken hatchers anonymous. CCBA: complusive chicken buyers anonymous)..:lau
But but but.... It's a healthy addiction.
Low calorie and doesn't cause cancer...... Not sure how bad the withdrawal symptoms are though....

True... Bit nerve wracking too..
I did it the smart way. I went to the local feed store, out of the wind, & came home with 5 Buff Orpington chicks, supposedly all female. All that was after I drove through some pretty hefty winds to pick up a dozen BCM eggs. With any luck at all, this will be the last time I have to employ an incubator; Buff O's are #2 on the most popular broody list. I sure don't need 5 broody hens, but I'll keep the two I like best & sell the rest.
