Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Sorry Pyxis:hugs same song and dance when I was selling puppies :rant
I had one on the other end of the spectrum...I was at a field trial & happened to mention to a guy that I'd just bred a pair of my pointers. I'd seen the guy around at different trials now & then, but didn't really know him, although he knew Dad fairly well.

Sixty-three days later, out of the blue, the guy shows up in front of my house, but I didn't recognize him. First thing he says is "You don't look right". I'm working nights, so have backward sleeping hours, and here's some clown in my front yard, uninvited, waking me up & telling me I don't look right! So, after I'd asked him, admittedly a bit put out by his question, just how I was supposed to look at my own front door, in the middle of what for me was the night, he says he'd only ever seen me in heavy cold-weather clothes with a gun on my hip, not in hastily thrown on jeans & barefoot.

Turns out he'd lost his dog, and was looking to replace it, & the lines I'd bred were just what he was looking for to get back into trials with. He'd made a note of when the pups were due, & somehow, I guess from Dad, he'd gotten my address & had come up to pick out a pup.

Well don't leave us hanging bro.... did he leave with a puppy or not?

Did it again.... two years ago I tried to leave Samsung Galaxy.... bought a Motorola.
Couldn't stand it..... This year triggered a new Motoz force. Just did nothing for me. Went back yesterday got a new Note9.
Freaking awesome phone. I did flinch a little at the price it was 300 more than the Motorola. Never thought I'd we set pay a grand for a phone.
Ithe Motorola was giving me issues.... dude says yeah they are problematic.
I never meant to buy a phone yesterday.
I think the guy was a bit surprised when I pulled a stack of fresh$100 bills out of my wallet.
Normally I would be too... but I've been saving all my money this summer...I was too busy putting that motor project together.

Heck the ear buds that came with this phone are the best I've ever heard. And they don't fall out of your ears. Wish I had these when I was still riding my old Indian scout around the highways.
It'll be a cold day in H3LL when I pay that much for a smart phone, or anything close to it. My phone makes & receives calls, sends & receives texts, & takes pictures; I have computers & a GPS for everything else.

I don't remember; you still have the Indian? Restore that puppy, get it running, paint it all up fancy-like, & sell it for a bundle.

Just had what appeared to be a decent buck & doe come through the woods, heading toward one of the feeders. Guess I'll go camp in the blind for a while to see if any others come in....scouting for next week when son will be here...can hardly wait. Never had much of a chance to hunt together when he was still around here; trying to make up for it while I can.

morning Ponders! (It's still morning, right?)
Up since 4 am making breakfast and kicking the deer hunters out of bed. Opening day of gun deer season here in frozen tozen land. Wow. Don't know how many more of these this old gal has in her. All day yesterday busy making apple pies, deer camp cookies and a big pot of clam chowder for when the guys started rolling in. Today it's leftover chowder and fresh biscuits for lunch and a big pot of chili for supper. Oh, and during dessert, the oldest stepson drops the hint "my favorite pie is apple, oh and YOUR pumpkin pie, I don't like anybody else's". Real subtle, David, real subtle,. Ok so I guess I'll break down and work one into my schedule. No small feat since nothing canned or prefab in my pies. My "filling" for pumpkin pie is still sitting in front of the fireplace acting as a decoration until needed. Ok, I had better grab a bit to eat and another cuppa before I start camp cook duty round two.
