Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Doctors and normalcy. Several years ago I had a couple of 'spells' where my mind/memory went blank for short periods of time. Doctor scheduled me for a MRI of my brain telling me, "Just want to make sure everything is okay up there." Paused a bit, shook his head, and said, "Probably should have done that long ago." :lau
did they find out what it was... Personal interest here.

Nope. Did some cardiac workups, Holter monitor - everything appeared to be fine. Blood work indicated very low levels of vit B12. Took shots for several months, but have maintained normal levels ever since. :idunno

I have had a couple of moments like someone turned the lights out like a screen change on tv... Lasted less than a second.... scared the crap out of me. Sitting here in front of the computer.

Were talking TwO moments over the past three years....

It happened twice to me a couple of minutes apart perhaps 2 years ago - minutes each time. My brain worked as far as rational thinking (well, as rational as I can be), but I could not remember anything - phone numbers or even my dogs names. Scared the crap out of me. The immediate thought was, "Is this what is to be?"

I think that's normal, or at least I hope it is. The expression used by the crowd I used to knock around with was 'tilt', like with a pinball machine.;)
I go tilt every now and then; the ball comes back on the board most times.:p

Back from the doc... 5 new meds for the kid....

They kept staring at his oxygen numbers. After giving him an albuterol nebulizer treatment he was right at the cutoff for needing to go to the hospital and being put on oxygen.

Turns out it wasn't just because he mowed and swept the shop without his respirator on.... oh no... . He also got the flu. :th so one of the meds is tamaflu.

That kid!! :barnie

There is such a thing as a Mini Stroke they fade away very quickly leaving no evidence.

Transient ischemic attack or TIA... Grandma had one... didn't affect her memory but I watched her face droop and her words slur.... By the time they got her to the hospital it was gone..... lasted about five minutes.

My episodes happened when my BP was hitting all time highs.... 200+.... I had an episode of Bell's Palsy thats when they found my High blood pressure... I was able to get on to Medi-Cal after that...

Diagnosis was a flair of Shingles inside my ear.... Ve4ry common in Bells... and no I don't have shingles or I haven't had an obvious episode of shingles.

Yeah... I had no idea he was getting the flu... turns out he picked it up from his boss....

I didn't think to ask the doc if everyone else in the family could also get tamaflu. :idunno

But we have an appointment to take the kid back in tomorrow... to make sure he is improving.

Also got a referral to an allergist. He is allergic to all living things, plus dust.

When he gets the runny nose from the allergies it quickly spirals downhill to him being full on asthmatic with wheezing and changing colors from lack of oxygen .:he

He is BAD. :hit
