Mother Nature!!! :barnie
26o F this morning, really?!?!? Glad I covered the gardens last night. Oh well, we normally have at least one frost and or freeze this week most years. Mother Nature's idea of giving me a bday present I guess. Delaying our plans slightly as we have to uncover everything before we leave. Sweet DH is taking me on a little day trip and lunch for my bday.
One more trip around the sun completed and still vertical, THANK YOU LORD.
Have a great week all my fellow water treaders! :hugs
Happiest of birthdays to you! :ya

Evening Ponders,
well, just came in from battening down the hatches, we're in for a blow! talking possible 60 to 80 mph winds to hit us in a couple hours. they're warning folks with big trees close to their houses to maybe spend the evening elsewhere. Because of all the rain lately the ground is soft and a poor anchor for the roots. Don't think we have to worry too much as long as the winds blow from the northwest, our thick woods in that direction offers good protection from such things but it still won't keep trees elsewhere from taking out power lines. DH just got back from filling up the gas cans for the generators. This storm has the potential of being pretty widespread so if it does take our power out we could be down for possibly days. No huge deal for us (been there done that) but I feel sorry those that aren't prepared, like all the campers, retirees up from Florida, etc. My only concern is there might be a lot of hail with this as well. All the hard work to save the gardens form the last two freezing nights will be for naught if that happens.
Stay safe, Chicki!

So do you leave your car in the open so hail can beat the paint off of it, or put it under roof so the building can collapse on it? What to do, what to do.
:lau
Wellllll, we had such a heavy snow load this year that we actually had a couple of the beefy double joists in the garage crack so the DH has spent all spring reinforcing everything load bearing with 12' 4x4s so the vehicle is going into the garage. I had succeeded in convincing him to clear back all the Jack Pine (aka nature's Roman candles) and other pine back to the woods line several years ago because of the fire risk and we have had no wind damage to any of the buildings since.

I just need to get this out of my system:

OK, I'm better now. Ever have one of those days where you just don't feel like you can handle *one more thing*, and then one more thing comes along? Yep, that's where I was today. (Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. And again...)
:hugs:hugs
All the time. Just go pull the covers up over your head.
"Tuck tuck" it will look better tomorrow.

I had an aunt in SD and their roof on the shed did not withstand the softball sized balls of hail so it depends on the hail and the roof....

Years ago I met a very nice lady from India, she said to inhale from one nostril while covering the other. Then then do the reverse and exhale - back and forth. She might have been selling me a bill of goods but, she had a great personality so I didn't care.

She also read my palm and said I had a long life line, and would come into great fortune.
I said "win the lottery?" and she replied "why not?" I didn't mention that I don't buy lotto tickets. I think family and friends are a great fortune especially my son.

Some else ask asked her to read their palm. She told them they had a very short life line and better get their affairs in order. The person was a terrible chain smoker, and really got hysterical hearing that that. You believe what you choose to believe.
