Luckily I am still a district paid employee. But I'm still under opaa management.
Granted they do have a lot of great ideas. .but most of it is just not practical for our school size. it's geared a lot more toward marketing in my opinion than it is feeding the kids. I should just go work at a buffet restaurant instead.

Well I got apple butter on the floor on the stove on me and about forty three paper towls.... Filled 24 4 ounce Jam jars and three half pints.... Used my super big stock pot as a water canner....

Now the jars are happily popping and pinging away....

I am beat.

I’ve got to share this - I’m sitting in Science with my student who doesn’t read much and doesn’t comprehend a thing that they’re doing. Right now the class is reviewing for a test by playing a game on their computers. They’re all linked together and the question shows up on the whiteboard. To answer, they click on either a red, blue, yellow or green rectangle. So the kid behind my student is sitting there going, “Red, J, red! Click on the red!” ( or whichever the correct color is), then congratulating him on every correct answer. Does my heart good. Not all of his classmates are kind or patient with him.

As of yesterday one of my newbie pullets is a Big Girl (20wks almost on the nose.) I'm not sure yet who laid it. It could possibly be the RR or the Marans/mix. I was hoping the MM would give me a classic Marans red egg, but its possible the red was mixed out. Its slightly too dark for the RR but I'm hoping its hers so that I still have a shot at red. Its still a very pretty shade of dark brown. Even my Wellie laid a lighter brown than this, so I'm not complaining.
