Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

All the people have left my house. There are a number of things I’ve been waiting to do until they were gone for a day. Now I don’t k is where to start, so I’m at the Pond. Sigh. I think I’ll write them down, put them in a jar and pick one.

One at a time.

I retired before the Princess so each day she would write 'honey do' list before leaving for work. I would crumple it up and throw it on the floor. After a bit I asked, "How's your list making working out?" She replied, "Not too good." We decided one or two items at a time was more workable. Is that negotiation ?

I decided to prioritize. After giving it some thought, I decided that the one job I HAD to do while he's gone is to clean the chicken coops. So I got the hens' nasty coop cleaned out first. It's been too long and had started to smell like ammonia, and the other half of the chicks' coop hadn't been used or cleaned in about five (or maybe closer to 7) years or so. It was DUSTY! I wore a mask, it was so bad. But now the chickies have more room to roam and seem happy. Tomorrow after work, if it's not raining I'm going to play in the dirt! I'm going to dig and plant and root around in my sorely neglected flower bed. I have plans.... Lots of plans. Whether or not any come to fruition remains to be seen, but it's good to have a goal, right? My flower bed is where I go for peace and quiet. That doesn't work when I have "help", but I also want him to learn a love of planting and growing things, so if he wants to come dig, he can come dig.
