Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good morning!
One last day of total chaos around here before we start our cross-country trek. We have an amazing house sitter who cleans things, but I'm hoping we can make it less "in need" of cleaning so the focus can be taking care of the animals, etc. Also, mom comes to stay for a month right after we get back!
How many cars will be in the train? 2? Or 3?

Hi everyone :frow
thank you all for the Bday wishes and permissions to no longer be a grownup :p
I'll start doing just that as soon as I can go outside again. Just got back from the walk-in clinic in town. Found a tick stuck between my toes, of all places, on Tuesday. Foot started to "puff" Weds. p.m. By yesterday (yep, birthday) walking wasn't fun because of an uncomfortable lump on the bottom side of the toes. Everything "poofier" this morning so,,,,,,,,,,, now I'm on antibiotics that ban me from going outside unless I want to burn. We're in for freakishly hot weather the next several days, for us, so my sweety just dug out our window air conditioner and put it in the kitchen window for me :love I'm grounded to rest and elevation until my foot will fit into a shoe again :duc and I still have a whole flat of herb plants that need to go into the ground yet!!!!!

We adopted this little wiggle butt from SDHS yesterday. She’s an 8yr old boxer.

The cats haven’t decided if she’s staying yet or not, but I hope they eventually approve because she’s a love bug. She has zero experience with other animals, but so far is handling our menagerie & the neighbors dogs ok. She’ll be on a lead out in the yard for a long time, but I expected that.

No official name yet. I’m calling her Puddin’Pie, but I heard at least one of the kids call her Harley & I heard DH call her Shelby.

She’s been eating out of the popcorn bowl, so I’ll pick her up a new bowl & a more appropriate collar today, but I guess the name tag will have to wait on the cats & the naming committee.

Look how that giant tongue sticks out when she’s sleeping. 😻

Worsens! You went up a size!

Have you ever had such a large dog before? (Large for you.... since I thought you were the pug lady)

We used to be big dog people. When I found myself with 3 kids under 6 & our big dogs got old, we switched to pugs. They are much easier to maintain when you have your hands full. Let them go chase the mailman once a day & they’re worn out.

The only problem with pugs, is when you’re not running a big dog 3 times a day you get fat.
