Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Morning ponders :frow
sorry just too far behind to try and catch up so I hope everyone is having a good beginning to summer. Just a little tap of frost here this morning and quickly climbing into the 70's. Finally broken the ridiculous heat wave here. Have no idea why we are so blessed but we are only one of two counties in our state right now that are not in some level of drought. Is getting a bit dry but we have rain coming tomorrow so,,,,,,.
Lost another hen to????? the other day. Fine when I went out to give them an evening treat, first one to my feet to check out what I brought. 2 hours later I go out to close the coop and find her laying peacefully dead in front of the pophole. Zero sign of anything wrong. For lack of any other knowledge, next day everyone got wormed and Rooster Booster in their water because, even tho the deceased was good weight, one of the survivors I picked up was too thin. She's the one on the bottom of the pecking order and that could just be her problem but no harm worming and other support, "just in case". I'm at a total loss as to what is going on otherwise. No deaths in over 2 years now 3 in a row? Lord, I wish we still had a vet that would see anything that's not a cat or a dog within a 100 miles. One or two livestock vets to the south but even they don't do poultry. We once had a "Dr. Po" vet that would see just about anything that breathed but he retired years ago and sold his practice to a woman that won't see ANYTHING but a cat or dog, or bring a vet into the practice that will. (all the vets in the old practice worked for her less than a month or two and went running for greener pastures. She runs an all girl practice after getting busted a while back because her male vet tech got caught finally shorting the pain meds on the surgeries and selling them.)

TOO FUNNY NOT TO PASS ON!!
How Do Court Reporters Keep Straight Faces?
These are from a book called Disorder in the Courts and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while the exchanges were taking place.

ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?

ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?

WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Forgot to add that they've all been a bit "loose in the caboose" lately but I'm just writing that off to the extreme heat and increased water intake. Otherwise, all eating etc. normally.
Man..... so sad.

I hate unexplained deaths.

Makes a person antsy.

:hugs

Ponders good afternoon one and all!

I have been absent as I have had my computer at the shop.

Monday Gretchen, my momma dog, had five (5) seizures.

Took her to the vet, who helped her cross the rainbow bridge peacefully.

She was fourteen and a half (14.5) years old.

I knew the time was coming. Had scheduled an appointment on June 24, 2021 to put her to sleep. She just made it happen earlier.

Have a great day!
