Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good morning pond! What's everyone doing for New Year's tonight? DH have me coffee this morning so there's a chance I'll make it to midnight without needing a nap! DD is trying to decide if she's going to a party tonight or staying home. It's good, clean fun with friends and parent supervision so it doesn't matter to me but if she goes, she's stuck there till about noon tomorrow. If she stays home, we'll be doing a family monopoly game as is tradition :) If she goes, it'll happen tomorrow instead. Tonight we'll have sweet and sour summer sausage, cheese cubes, and crackers to graze on all night and probably a veggie tray. All Christmas decorations are down except the lights across the roof which were taking care of here in about an hour so we'll bring in the new year fresh.

DS got his car back yesterday. It took 3 weeks but he has a new hood, new windshield, new fender, new door, new bumper, grill, and headlight. He was so happy to have it back and was thrilled that it looked brand new! Those deer are awful! Of course, he got it back just in time for it to start snowing again. We have multiple inches of snow due in through Saturday. He had AWD for those 3 weeks and it really didn't snow at all lol. Oh well. I have a feeling he's going to be extra cautious.

DD had a birthday on Saturday....18 years old! My baby is now officially an adult and there are no more "kids" in the house. It's so hard to believe :( We splurged a little and got her the newest iPad for her birthday. She's been dying for one and it'll help her going in to college.

Hope you all have a wonderful new year! Don't party too hard!

Good Morning Pond!
Foggy here again today. If it’s true that it rains 90 days after a fog, the end of March could be interesting here. Rain, snow or both are possible. In the past, I have written on the calendar when we’ve had fog to see if it’s true, but 90 days is a long time and I never remember to look back on a rainy or snowy day.

Happy New Year! We have no plans. I’m OK with that.

Just having a nice calm "silent night" here. We managed a white Christmas but now all our snow is pretty much gone!!! As Alaskan can attest, not good for us northern folks when there's a polar vortex heading our way. Looking at a long stretch of barely above zero daytimes with no chance of the fluffy stuff. Not good for the septic and plumbing. Ground is already froze of course so this could drive the frost too deep. If that happens there goes the nice tall stuff that was already stressed and we've only had the septic freeze once and it was the same kind of El Nino year we're setting up for. :fl
