Well….We got er done!!

"I would highly suggest one change though. I would add a layer of preasure treated 2"x6" around the base. Run them flat side down with 45 degree mitered corners and centered under the 2'x4" 's that you have for the base. This will keep the wood from rotting much better than the way you have it right now. "

Actually, all the wood that touches ground is pressure treated, thanks for reminding others though:)

I would like you to come to my house and build one for me please. I will pay you in cookies! or pies! Whichever you like better! I'm just converting an old shed, there is no way it will turn out that awesome

Everyone that comes into our place wants a coop like it, LOL! I don't think D/H would do another for any amount of money:) I'm proud to say the "girls" have learned where they should roost at night after a day of free ranging the area. Every night at dusk they are all in their coop waiting for me to close the pen up. I have to say though, when they were first turned loose, those first few days were a real hoot trying to catch them up at nightfall!! They are right at 11 weeks old now and doing great!

I could use 5 just like that!!!

I want to show dh, so I hope you keep the slideshow up on photobucket for quite while. We can go step by step using your photos as a guide, if you don't mind.

IT's gorgeous!!
