(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Sure am new. Got my first 6 in March at TSC.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
12. First batch had two Roos and I am hoping adding 6 pullets will keep the peace.
(3) What breeds do you have?
6 Rainbow (2 Roos), 3 Brahmas and 3 Black Sex Linked
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them. Told a friend recently, sitting on my deck and watching chickens gets me as close to zen as possible.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Guitar, Music, Motorcycles, Computers
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We got the chicks because our oldest, 22, is developmentally delayed and she got it in her mind she wanted chickens. Her medical diet requires a lot of eggs and I liked the idea of them eating ticks! Been loving the experience up to now, hoping to love it more.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Foundit on reddit /R/backyardchickens
Joined so I can grow in my chicken husbandry.
