I brought home another dumped pooch yesterday
He's either a runt or really, really, stunted. My guess is that he's a Collie x Heeler cross, he has 'collie-ish' markings, four white feet, 'blaze', black coat, thin white collar. But, he also has heeler markings with ink spots on his white markings.
I'll admit...I kinda guilt-tripped my dad into letting me take him home. He's gotten a quarter dose of wormer in him, getting another quarter tomorrow. He was COVERED in ticks, been cleaning those up slowly but surely. He also got a bath yesterday, he now smells like tangerines
So far so good on house accidents (this is probably the first time he's been in a house even). He had a small one this morning, I had to bring my dad the phone so I missed the narrow window between his finishing breakfast and needing to go outside. I shoo'd him out the door as fast as I could and praised him when he finished up.
He's also doing very well with crate training. His 'crate' is really a transport cage, but with a trashbag liner, then a rubber-backed rug, THEN soft and fluffy old shirts to snuggle into it works
He spent the whole night in it last night with no accidents, and without a lot of screaming and whining about it. He's actually relaxing it in behind me at the moment, after a hard romp with the big guys (plus my dad likes to see him contained and not running wild
)
