So I had some yummy minute steak defrosting on my freezer and my dog got it!! What the heck! So now my DH is going to pick up Italians (AKA subs) so we can have something for dinner. I really looking forward to having steak and cheese sandwiches for dinner...and it was the last package of minute steak we had! Guess I'll have to find a new place to defrost my meat.

Because our lab/dobie cross is a "counter surfer" everything edible must be in a cabinet or more than 6 feet up. He's gotten the sugar bowl, and last week several apples. Yup, apples. One disappeared, the other he left on my bed. Unharmed.

I had a semi feral kitten that I rescued that was a thief. Only stole valuable stuff, like my jewelry. Her stash was in the space above the kitchen cabinets. When I got ready to move I found 2 necklaces, a $20 bill, and a skeleton key that I have no idea where it came from.

We once had a German Shepherd puppy (about 6 months old) that ate a 5 pound package of FROZEN hamberger!!!! We were only outside for like 20 minutes!!! We never even found the packaging!!!

Given the opportunity, most of my animals are thieves - even the horses. Our beagle will climb up the barstools to get on the counter; the newfie/lab mix will stretch his head up and lick things off the counter; the lab will eat anything that vaguely ressembles food if it is within reaching distance; the one cat will drag food off the counter and open the cupboard door and get in the garbage (door now has a baby lock); and one of the horses will stick his head in your car and steal anything he can get his lips on. He once stole a tuna sandwich from a worker's car and ate it! Yes, my friend, you are not alone:lol:

My lab loves apples. As soon as I take a bite, he is begging. I always give him the core. He will steal the butter off the counter, sandwiches off the table, etc. If it is food and not nailed down, he will eat it. Rotten dog!

My dogs are not a problem (knock on wood). But that darn cat...

We had a bag of marshmallows on the counter left from having a bonfire. That cat chewed a hole in the bag and had been fishing the marshmallows out one by one and eating them. Half the bag was gone!

The cat now has a crate right next to the dog crates. LOL!

When I was growing up my dad had cooked a ham and left it on the counter. We had a Standard Poodle Jacques, well the ham disappeared, My parents thought some one had broken in and stolen the ham.

. A few months later we were moving furniture and guess what we found, a ham bone under the couch. My mama still laughs about the disappearing ham.

my dogs eat anything left within 3inches of the edge of the counter and one of them is a ten year old Basset Hound.
