Well, it’s a duck question.

I have a flock of 7 ladies and 1 drake Welsh Harlequins. They are one year old. One of the ladies just finished sitting, hatched 7 babies and I had her quarantined in my house with the babies for their safety for a week. Now my drake treats her like he doesn’t recognize her as one of the flock. I thought he might just be anxious to breed with her again but he’s just nasty. He does mount her but then chases her away and won’t let her with the flock. I can’t stand it that she is alone and I can’t stand to keep him separate. She is my smallest and she is my favorite. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Are ducks like chickens in the sense that if you had her (and her babies) in a large crate in with the others, they would get used to her but not be able to chase or hurt her?

(Sorry, I'm a chicken person, not a duck person!)

I have tried that. Separation for about a week where they can see each other but not get to each other, and as soon as I let them back out to free range he’s at it again.
