Hi All

Fell over this wonderful site whilst looking for advice about would you believe Chickens lol. My wife and I have inherited a few chickens and have no clue as to what they need other than the food and water requirements, so hoping to have a good read and learn very quickly.

Saying that, my wife is sure to spoil them, one thing is certain, they wont be for meat so we have some lucky birds. She at present is looking for "soft bedding for them" so I leave her alone in her quest and I would not be surprised if they will have hats and coats for the winter lol, well she's not really that bad but close.

Anyway, thanks for having me.

Hi Andy, welcome to BYC. Sounds like you and your wife are enjoying your new birds.

Hi Andy and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard with us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre (even if you have lots of experience)
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread

All the best

Hi All.

I thank you for the very warm welcome... I'm pottering around the site and its a wealth of information. My word, there are also some photos of some impressive coops people have, and some wonderful ideas. I am particularly impressed with the bucket feeder that has plumbing parts attached so the birds can feed with minimal wasted feed.... Good stuff.

As a new member, I want to thank all concerned for making a site easy to use and view also to the members for their shared information. Well done to all concerned.
