Well there go my guard dog plans

I don't know, my dogs bark just to hear their heads rattle sometimes

in about 90 minutes he will sit outside and howl his big head off for 1 minute 48 seconds. That's how long the national anthem is they play each sunday at 5pm. He also howls along a 9 am sunday. Some bugle calls make him go nuts. its a special treat when they all chime in. a three dog howl along. You gotta love living 100ft from a loudspeaker that plays bugle calls and doubles as a siren.

We don't shoot anything here-- deterents and fencing h elp keeep our losses down. Live and let live.

Love that the pug helped out!! lol
If the possum ever comes back i'll let our 8pound doxie out. She is nuts for chasing stuff. Maybe I should call the Turtleman and have him check the whole place out for critters before we get livestock. He lives pretty close.

Dogs do a great job when they hang out with the flock. Our Boston terrier is a nut-job that has to inspect everything the the chickens are scratching at:

The one I want to stay with them wont even get up for a possum. Scooby the dog that could do the job, cant do it either. She will dig a whole and run, plus she is epileptic and has a bad knee. Beanie(pug) is too much of a nuisance . He loves to harass copper and would do the same with chickens. Though he might chance his mind once a full grown tom turkey or goose charges him.
