Well, wasn't that dumb and messy!

Hey, don't be dumb like me and put your feeder that you just cleaned in the oven with only pilot light on. Umm, this drying method only works if you don't actually turn the oven on and melt it to this hanging snotty looking goo....daughter turned it on, she was making brownies and didn't know it was in there. Well, now I have no feeder, guess its time to rig one up with yogurt containers or somethin.

I have a utility room upstairs off my laundry room with a very large, deep sink. It's perfect to keep a few chickies or goslings in while they're very young. Anyway, after they out grow the sink they move into the barn and I clean and disenfect the sink. Long story short..there is no overflow in this particular sink and I put the plug in fill it with soap and scrub...except I forgot the water running with the plug in and flooded my house...TWICE! The water ran down the floor register and down into the basement and shorted out the electrical box. Eventually (3 days if I stand in front of it with a hair dryer) it drys out and all appliances, light switches, furnances and fans work again...and my family actually speakes to me...again...

So, al6517...is right! These things do happen...and sometimes twice!

You could use an ice try for a feeder if its for chicks, just as a temp fix.
