Wellies for fat girls?

redhen (and CityGirl), here are the superhero muck boots for your viewing pleasure. I even knocked the mud off just for you.

So, they appear to be "Northerner" brand, and while I usually wear an 8, the size of these says 7 and they fit perfectly with thick socks. The Tractor Supply over in Hermitage, TN has some black ones in another brand as well, but I am not sure they have super powers.

Hope that helps.

Well, if they don't have super powers what's the point really?

Thanks for the picture. I am off to TSC tonight! Of course, the ground is frozen solid right now so the crocs are working just fine. Given the fact that we had snow over the weekend (albeit flurries) I am thinking the winter is going to be wretched! Bring on the muck boots!

Yep, I think we're in for a nasty winter, too. Early first snow, early cold temps here. . . *shiver*

I wore my superhero muck boots outside yesterday; however, I must confess they did nothing to protect my forgetful head from the buckets of sleet pouring from the sky.

What I needed was my super-duper Aussie hat.

This is what I did,but I just put a slit in them about 3 inches long. I have calves like male body builder all bulky muscle and then a good layer of fat. lol

First the wretched heat all summer and now early freeazing temps. Tennessee is supposed to be milder than this!!

I ran around in crocs with socks all weekend (it's like a bad Dr. Seuss book, isn't it?). I DID have a hat on though pulled down tight over my ears. Brrrr!!! The chickens didn't seem to notice or care about the snow/sleet mixture coming down all day yesterday. If it keeps this up I'll have to invest in a parka and muffler just to do chicken chores!

Well now, that is clever. A slit would be loads easier than whacking the top off. GREAT idea! I'll try that if I can't get a pair that actually fits.

Yep, I cut a slit in mine, used some 'shoe goo' to reinforce the base of the top and glue on some heavy duty velcro so I can sort of close the flap and keep things from flapping and keep the jeans in well too. Even the cheaper ones last a good long time!

DING DING DING! We have a winner!

I went to TSC last night and am now the proud owner of a pair of $14 muck boots. They had the Northern brand, but didn't have my size. So I went with the economy pair and have cut a slit in them. I am so pleased! Thanks for the great ideas all!

Right on! Glad you found some new superhero boots.

And now for the rest of the costume . . . old Metallica T-shirt, faded purple flannel pants, dirty Aussie hat, and glass of wine. Voila! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Super-Crazy-Chicken-Lady to the rescue!
