It's a mixed breed cockerel. The color (looks like black breasted red) is common to several breeds, but those legs show mixed breeding.

pretty sure the legs were blue from the get go.
My wife was guessing mixed breed too.

Probably a mutt, yeah. My favorite, honestly. I love the different colors and types you get when you mix breeds. And, my flock doesn't look just like everyone else's!!
