I have chickens and ducks sharing the same garden, today I discovered an egg which I think maybe a ducks but I'm unsure as they share the same nesting box. The problem I had today is I left the other nest covered, which is were the chickens always lay, I therefore can't work out if it was a chicken or duck. The egg is a pearly coloured large egg, I'd say about 25% bigger than my leghorns egg, it feels like an ornament if I'm to describe the texture.
Any assistance or even photos showing the difference I would be grateful for.

in one hand hold a chicken egg in the other hold the unknown
close your eyes and feel them, a ducks egg is waxy

also if you candle it - candle the chicken egg, then candle the unknown
a ducks egg is nearly see-through

Good luck!!

i dont think it looks like a duck egg, but try my test

what other chickens do you have?
Tried the feel test, they feel the same so leaning towards a chicken's egg.
I have 3 Leghorns, 1 lays pure white and then the other 2 lay like the egg in the picture. I also have Austolorp, Wyandotte and Brown Leghorn as well as Red sexlinks, add to that the 2 Araucanas and I have quite a variety :)
